Let’s talk about qualifications.

Kamala Harris: Elected San Francisco district attorney. Elected California attorney general. Elected to the U.S. Senate. Elected vice president of the United States. Qualified? You bet.

Donald Trump: Multiple bankruptcies. Impeached twice. Founder of a phony university and a bogus foundation. Adjudicated guilty of sexual abuse and business fraud, fined nearly $400 million. Convicted of 34 financial frauds. Indicted of two federal criminal charges and a state racketeering charge. Qualified? An executive recruiter’s black hole candidate.

Headed for extinction

First of all, this Steve Bousquet guy (the Opinion Editor) decided it would be OK to brand his personal endorsement of Anthony Aguirre as “the Sun-Sentinel recommends Aguirre” in House District 94 in Palm Beach County.

This type of distinction should be clarified. There’s a huge difference.

Also, three letters to the editor in Saturday’s paper were the writings of MAGA-based, nonsensical, Trump-loving writers. I would like to think that this is because you were mocking them — but you and I both know that’s not true.

This was the most historic week in the history of U.S. presidential elections and your paper did not receive more letters in support of Kamala Harris? That’s the most ridiculous joke anyone could imagine.

Your newspaper is laughable, especially its opinionated editorial board. This experience confirmed my suspicions that newspapers are quickly becoming extinct. Behavior like this will speed up that process even more.

Decency is on the rise. Kamala Harris winning the election in 2024 will solidify that dynamic once and for all.

You exhibited obvious desperation for the survival of printed media and for the preservation of a Trump-led MAGA nation on page 15 of the July 27th Sun Sentinel.

Disgraceful. Best of luck to you in your new careers.

‘Dumbest endorsement ever’

Seriously? You must be joking.

What elected offices have Rodney Jacobs and Chad Klitzman ever held?

Dr. Barbara Sharief was a commissioner for Broward County from 2010 to 2021. During that time she was also mayor for a year, both in 2013 and 2016. She also served on the Miramar city commission.

This is the dumbest endorsement ever (of Klitzman for Senate).

Not because of who you chose, but because of who you did not.

Dr. Sharief is a true public servant and Jacobs and Klitzman have never been elected to any public office, not even dog catcher.

Only Sharief is qualified

Perhaps because of the nasty flyers being sent out mostly from Rodney Jacobs’s Senate campaign, and also maybe because Chad Klitzman is a very young candidate, voters will pick the only experienced candidate and the one most everyone wants to see elected.

Having met with and seen all of the District 35 candidates, individually and in debates, it is obvious to me and many other members of the Broward County Democratic Executive Committee that Barbara Sharief is the only truly qualified person to represent this Senate district.
