Playalinda Beach in Canaveral National Seashore near Kennedy Space Center is a popular place to watch rockets launch. The beach also boasts some of the best waves on Florida’s Space Coast and is a great place to relax, bird watch, sunbathe, fish or simply sit and observe the ocean.

Playa Linda is Spanish for “beautiful beach,” and it’s an apt description as this undeveloped beach offers a welcome change from others. This pristine shore is protected by sand dunes, but don’t walk on it. By stepping or playing on sand dunes, humans damage the beach grass and other plants that hold the dune together. So, stick to the provided boardwalks to make your way from the parking lots to the seashore.

There are 13 parking areas with restrooms, but there are no shower areas. Disclaimer: The nude beach area starts at #13 and is hidden behind large dunes, so you won’t see any nude bathers from the parking lot.

Entrance to Cape Canaveral National Seashore is $15 per day per vehicle. There is a $1 walk-on fee per day.

If you go: Playalinda Beach is located in Canaveral National Seashore in Titusville. The park usually opens at 6 a.m., but check the website for hours of operation. 321-267-1110; nps.gov
