Florida’s sweltering summer temperatures eliminate most outdoor entertainment, but a pool day is a quick and easy way to beat the heat.
Don’t have a pool? Lucky for us, many hotels and resorts around South Florida offer pool access throughout the summer. Some of them don’t charge the public for admission, while others sell day passes that cost $45 to $90.
Here are some places to spend a relaxing day at the pool.
The Hilton West Palm Beach: The Hilton offers nonhotel guests free access to their pool. Every Saturday, there is a pool party with a DJ and food. Parking for the day costs $15.

The Atlantic Hotel and Spa: This boutique hotel offers day passes at $50 for adults and $15 for kids. The pass includes free parking, wifi and pool access until 6 p.m. Pass holders also receive 20 percent off lunch and dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and can enjoy the hotel’s new SKY bar.

The National Hotel: This cinematic, art deco-style hotel in Miami Beach offers $45 day passes for nonhotel guests to enjoy the pool. Parking costs from $25 to $35, depending on the length of the stay.

Delano Beach Club: Day passes to this Miami Beach hotel are available Monday through Thursday for $45 per person. This grants access to all pool amenities from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Valet parking costs $24.

The Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach: This resort offers three pool day options. The “Sun Lovers” pass costs $75 per person and provides access to pool, towel, chairs and water. The “Summer Bliss” package for two costs $300 and includes day bed, bottle of champagne, appetizers, ice cream and 15 percent off drinks at the restaurant. The second “Summer Bliss” package costs $415 for four people. It includes a day bed, two bottles of champagne, appetizers, ice cream, 15 percent off drinks at the restaurant and more.

The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort: For a $90 day pass, nonhotel guests can enjoy all pool amenities, an umbrella at the beach, valet parking and 15 percent off all spa treatments.
The resort is in Miami Beach at 9703 Collins Ave. Call 305-993-3300.
Fontainebleau Miami Beach: This luxury hotel isn’t known for being cheap, but if a large enough group splits the cost of a cabana, it may be worth the relaxation. Nonhotel guests can only receive pool access by renting a cabana or receiving a spa treatment. Large cabanas, which hold up to 12 guests, cost $1,000. Family cabanas start at $250 and hold four people, while six-person cabanas start at $550. Cabanas can be reserved by nonhotel guests at no additional fee.
