Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Gary Edward Barg, 68, of Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 09, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and dear friends. Born on March 15, 1956 in Miami Beach, Florida to Robert and Monica Weiss Barg.

Following his graduation from North Miami Beach Senior High School and Florida State University, both with honors, Gary launched his video production company which was selected to produce work for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.

In 1995, Gary founded Today’s Caregiver Magazine, caregiver.com and the Fearless Caregiver Conferences to provide caregiver support and training. He became a pioneer in promoting recognition for the crucial role played by family caregivers in the United States and became a tireless advocate on their behalf. His 30 years of advocating for caregivers across the country has helped raise awareness and bring caregiving into the national conversation.

Gary E. Barg is survived by his partner Chris Andaya, his mother, Monica Weiss Barg, his sister Linda Barg Manzini, his brother Steven Barg and brother-in-law Ricky Harris, his cherished nieces Alexandra Manzini Brunswig and husband Jeremie Brunswig and Taryn Manzini and wife Bella Pocaro, his long-time friend Nancy Schonwalter and his beloved canine companion, Morris Junior.

Funeral Services – Sunday, 8/11 – 12:30 Levitt-Weinstein Memorial Chapel North Miami Beach, followed by interment at Lakeside Memorial Park in Doral.

THERE WILL BE A CELEBRATION OF LIFE to follow at The Plaza at ParkSquare, Aventura from 4 to 8 pm.
