Spirit Airlines making major price shift. Perks like free Wi-Fi, carry-on bags and snacks will fall into revamped fares

Moves are designed to return discounter to profitability

Spirit Airlines, the South Florida-based discount carrier known for its a la carte service, now says it is folding free perks such as carry-on luggage, Wi-Fi and snacks and drinks into a new fare menu.
